The Truth About Orbs

Not a day goes by that my e-mail is not filled with at least 10 picture's depicting orbs. With the subject line of "I Have A Ghost" Each time I write the same reply ," Thank you for your picture submission I have analyzed your picture  and what you have is a natural orb or an orb caused from natural occurrence such as Dust, Pollen or moisture. "  Usually this is followed by an email quoting some ghost hunter site that says all orbs are ghosts.

I TO WAS AT ONE TIME UNDER THAT IMPRESSION however the great thing about being a good paranormal investigator is that you learn as you go and that you realize that NO ONE and I do mean NO ONE knows everything about ghost hunting and paranormal research. As Albert Einstein said, " After All if we knew what we were doing we would not have to research it would we?"

There are two basic types of Orbs

The first type and the most common is a natural orb this is caused when the flash of a camera bounces off a dust particle, moisture droplet (If the humidity is 20% or more you have moisture in the air sorry) pollen, sand, etcetera. This orb is usually transparent and is not of a round shape. Chances are if you zoom in on it with an editing program you will notice that it takes on an Octagonal, triangular, or diamond shape depending on the type of  surveillance camera you have The reason because it is a reflection and will take on the shape of the shutter in your camera lens.

The Second Type is an energy orb This type of orb is caused by a collection of energy it will appear bright white like a light bulb. If you zoom in on it it will stay round and you may notice a ring or energy field around it. A ghost I don't believe so it means that there is a collection of energy in the area. This can be caused by many reasons, it seems everything we own anymore is electronic as I write this I am setting by three computers, 2 TV sets, 3 vcr's a fax machine as well as an electric fan. All of these items emit and electromagnetic field and can release energy strong enough to produce and energy orb.

I should point out that the presence of an energy orb can be a sign that the energy level is high enough to attract spirit activity but just because you have captured an energy orb on film or digital media in no way means that you have a ghost.

The only way that the Yuma Spirit Hunters will use the presence of Orbs to validate a haunting in an area is if the presence of the orb is captured in conjunction with other activity such as EVP or items being moved.

Now I want to touch on FACES IN ORBS chances are if you can see faces in the orbs you have captured they are dust and have a texture to them. Let me explain

As humans we need to make since out of what we see our brain is equipped with a ancient survival skill that allows us to see and since danger. This is called Matrixing and is the Natural tendency for the human mind to interpret sensory input (that which is perceived visually, audibly or tactilely) as something familiar or more easily understood and accepted, and symptoms of which  in effect mentally "filling in the blanks."

I hope this puts some peoples fears to rest and I hope that it helps some of the up and coming ghost hunters in their pursuit of the truth.
